Yuletide in London
With the launch of our limited edition Christmas scented candles that were recently released, I thought it would be the perfect time to talk a little bit more about this special fragrance and what it was inspired by.
I have always loved the build up to Christmas time. My favourite time of year is from September to December as there are always lots of fun things to enjoy around those times. From late summer, the arrival of Autumn, Halloween, to Bonfire Night… I love all of the traditional events that these seasons bring. So once November draws to a close, it always feels good to get the Christmas traditions started. Right now, it may seem a little early to start talking about Christmas. But as I feel as it’s been such a difficult year for some, why not pull out the big guns early! Anyone have their tree up yet?!
Having spent the past 8 years in London around Christmas time, it has become my favourite place to really get in the mood for celebrating. I remember my partner taking me on our first Christmas lights walk one evening all around central London. We walked for miles to see the gorgeous twinkling angels on Regents street, the funky themed lights on Carnaby Street, to Seven Dials’ cute displays surrounding cobbled streets and so many more. It was so magical that I almost forgot about the masses of Christmas shoppers. I suppose it all added to the bustling London Christmas experience. We finished the evening having dinner at the stalls on the Southbank looking over the Thames river, twinkling with the reflection from a multitude of overhanging lights and lamp posts. You couldn't really get any more "London" than that!

Alongside my love of all the sparkles brightening up the skies and buildings (plus Harrods' window displays - so dreamy!), I adore Christmas at Kew, the magical shows and performances on Broadway, eating delicious confectionary treats at various popups, markets and eclectic eateries across the city as well as joining in on all the fun and games in Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland. This is just the very tip of the iceberg in regards to things to experience and enjoy in London during Christmas. There is a whole wealth of excitement, foods to eat, drinks to be drunk and magical sights to see. In light of the pandemic, I still hope lots of these things will be available for us to enjoy this year, such as dining experiences like this from Coppa Club. Check out their Tower Bridge Winter Terrace Igloo pods. How gorgeous are they?! And they are socially distanced - perfect.
I knew that London would be the perfect location to base our limited edition scented candles' fragrance on. The Yuletide inspired fragrance opens with delightful winter peppermint and lush red fruits reminiscent of traditional smells. I teamed the top notes with a creamy mix of cocoa, clove and cinnamon for a gorgeous spicy twist which ends with a warm musk and vanilla. It is a delectable, sweet treat perfect for cosy Christmas nights in by a roaring fire. Whilst we all know that Christmas won't be the same this year, there is nothing stopping us from safely beginning the festive period safe and sound indoors.
Our Yuletide in London scented candles are available for only a set time period! Don't miss the fabulous Christmas candles available as always in two separate sizes and a choice of lid colour. Enjoy!
Take care,
